  • Décolletage Care Top Tips

When it comes to skincare, we often focus on our face - exfoliating, cleansing and daily moisturising - that is of course until we have the shock of seeing our neck on a video call and the sudden realisation that we've failed to give our décolletage the attention it deserves. Let's face it, once we notice it, we can't un-notice it. With a few simple steps, you can keep your décolletage looking as radiant and youthful as our face and these are our décolletage care top tips. Why Your Décolletage Deserves Care The skin on your décolletage is thinner and has fewer oil glands compared to other parts of your body. This makes it more susceptible to dryness, sun damage, and wrinkles. By incorporating a few moments of care into your daily skincare routine, you can maintain its elasticity and smoothness, ensuring it stays as vibrant as the rest of your skin. Décolletage Care Top Tips ONE: Prioritise Sun Protection Sunscreen is our number one top tip. Always apply sunscreen daily with at least an SPF30 to your face, neck and chest, regardless of the weather. UV rays can cause premature ageing and increase the risk of skin cancer. We recommend ALTRUIST SPF50 Sunscreen a quality, dermatologist formulated sunscreen that is hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic. It's fast absorbing, non-sticky formula feels like a moisturiser and won't leave a white residue. Vegan, cruelty-free and coral reef friendly, this 5 star UVA rated sunscreen has a broad spectrum protection 5 star ultra UVA rating (PPD 52). Highly moisturising and water resistant, it is fragrance and paraben free, so it's perfect for dry and sensitive skin too. TWO: Gentle Cleansing When you cleanse your face, don't forget to cleanse your neck too. Using a gentle cleanser like our L'ORGANIQ Radiance Cleanser you'll avoid stripping the delicate skin on your neck of its natural oils. Specifically designed for mature skin, this natural cleanser is an infused blend of brightening fruit extracts, including strawberry, melon, and papaya, providing essential vitamins and minerals to revitalise your skin. THREE: Regular Exfoliation Don't be afraid to exfoliate your décolletage once or twice a week using a gentle yet nourishing scrub such as L'ORGANIQ Clarifying Skin Polish . It's formula is enriched with apricot extract, which gently exfoliates your skin while nourishing it with essential vitamins A and C. With avocado oil, a rich source of fatty acids and vitamin E, it will ensure your skin stays hydrated and nourished down to the deepest layers, while helping to remove dead skin cells and promotes cell turnover. FOUR: Consistent Moisturising Maintain the skin's plumpness with a hydrating and rich, nourishing moisturiser . We recommend our L'ORGANIQ Radiance Moisturiser , d esigned to brighten and tone your skin with brightening and nourishing ingredients to give you back a radiant glow, or a serum that contains hyaluronic acid, such as our L'ORGANIQ Hyaluronic Acid Triple Fruit Serum , an oil free serum with vitamin B5, and a blend of powerful natural fruit extracts, including cranberry, grapefruit, and raspberry. FIVE: Stay Hydrated We all know it, yet many of us fail to do it. Drinking plenty of water not only maintains our body and brain, it will keep your skin hydrated from within. Your décolletage is an elegant, expressive part of your body. By dedicating care and attention to it, you can maintain its youthful beauty and radiance. Remember, your skincare routine doesn't stop at your jawline. Extending your daily skincare routine to your décolletage will most certainly reap rewards and you'll feel super-confident on that next video call! #lorganiq #naturalskincare #decolletage #toptips

  • BWB Be Fearless

Female-Founded Brands Unite for Breast Cancer Awareness: A Collective Effort to Save Lives October is a time for reflection, action, and community support as Breast Cancer Awareness Month takes centre stage. This year, L'ORGANIQ  is proud to join forces with the BWB be fearless campaign with other incredible female-founded brands from the Buy Women Built  network to raise awareness and funds for cancer charities. Together, we are amplifying the critical message that early detection saves lives through our #befearless campaign. Breast cancer affects an astonishing number of women worldwide. In the UK alone, over 55,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year, and tragically, over 11,000 lives are lost. That’s nearly 1,000 women each month—one every 45 minutes. The statistics are sobering, but they underscore the importance of initiatives like this one, which focus on awareness, and support for women fighting this disease. For many of the female founders participating in this campaign, the mission is personal. Katy Davies, founder of ecojiko , who has created this great campaign and is no stranger to the emotional and physical toll of breast cancer. In 2021, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, she discovered a lump in her breast. Within weeks, she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer and began chemotherapy. “My tumour was just half a millimetre away from spreading,” Katy recalls. “Early detection saved my life, and I am forever grateful. I know how fragile life is, and I am very aware I am one of the lucky ones.” Katy's story is one of many within the Buy Women Built network. Several women in this collaboration have built their businesses while undergoing cancer treatment or recovering from it. For them, raising awareness is more than a campaign—it’s a heartfelt mission to help others catch breast cancer early. To kick off the collaboration, the brands gathered for a photo shoot in London, hosted at the Future Dreams charity offices. Future Dreams , a charity dedicated to supporting those affected by breast cancer, generously provided their space for the event, which featured many brands from the Buy Women Built network, including ecojiko , OMG Tea , Anna James the Label , L’Organiq , Evenly , Well & Truly , Caboodle , Y.O.U Underwear , Pep & Lekker , Louise Thomas Skin Care , Amp Wellbeing , Kooky , Raishma Ready to Wear,   SANA Wellness , and Tinker & Tallulah . Each female founder brands are united by a common goal: raise awareness by encouraging others to check their breasts regularly and raise funds for cancer charities through their businesses. Why Early Detection Matters Early detection of breast cancer can be the difference between life and death. The sooner breast cancer is identified, the better the chances of successful treatment. But what does early detection really mean? It starts with regular self-checks and being aware of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer. Here’s how you can check your chest: Look in the Mirror : Stand in front of a mirror with your shoulders straight and your arms on your hips. Check for any unusual changes such as dimpling, redness, or a change in the size or shape of your breasts. Raise Your Arms : With your arms raised, check again for any changes. Feel for Lumps : While lying down or in the shower, use a firm, smooth touch with the first few fingers of your hand. Check for any lumps, hard knots, or thickening of the breast tissue. Check the Nipples : Squeeze the nipples gently to see if there’s any discharge (fluid) other than breast milk. Remember, everyone’s breasts are different, and changes can happen for many reasons. However, if you notice anything unusual, it’s important to contact your healthcare provider for advice. The Power of Community This collaboration is about more than just fundraising—it’s about creating a movement of support and awareness. As Emma Chevrel, founder of L’Organiq and a breast cancer survivor, shares, “The importance of early detection is crucial, and this super-power collective of Buy Women Built brands, working together to spread the word, just shows the force of difference women supporting women can make.” Throughout October, each participating brand will donate a portion of their sales to breast cancer charities and L'ORGANIQ will donate 10% of their October sales to the amazing Look Good Feel Better charity. This campaign is only the beginning. The collaboration aims to grow year on year into an annual event that not only raises money for essential breast cancer research but also sparks conversations and encourages more women to be vigilant about their health. As Breast Cancer Awareness Month unfolds, we invite you to join us in raising awareness and funds, checking your breasts, and sharing this message of hope and solidarity. Together, we can make a difference. Early detection really does saves lives. #befearless #buywomenbuilt #breastcancerawareness #lorganiq

  • Autumn Skincare - The Seasonal Switch

With autumn fast on the heels of a fading summer, it's not just our wardrobes that receive the seasonal switch, it's our skincare too. The transition from warm, humid days to cooler, drier ones can have a significant impact on our skin. To keep your skin healthy and hydrated all year round, it's important to adapt your autumn skincare, just as each weather season change and here's how to switch-up your skincare routine as we head into autumn. Autumn Skincare - The Seasonal Switch 1. Max your moisturiser Throughout the summer, you likely relied on a lightweight moisturiser to provide hydration without feeling heavy on your skin during the hot and sticky humid days. However, as the temperature now drops and the air becomes drier, your skin needs more nourishment. What to do: Switch to a richer moisturiser: Opt for a cream-based moisturiser, like L'ORGANIQ Caffeine Rich Anti-Ageing Moisturiser , that offers intense hydration with a blend of natural oils with vegetable glycerin to lock in moisture and coffee extract to stimulate cell renewal and boost elasticity. Layering Hydration: Consider incorporating a hydrating serum with hyaluronic acid underneath your moisturiser - L'ORGANIQ Hyaluronic Acid Triple Fruit Serum - an extra layer of hydration to prevent your skin from becoming dry and flaky. 2. Address Post-Summer Sun Damage After a summer of sun exposure, your skin might be dealing with some damage, including dark spots, uneven texture, and dullness. Autumn is the perfect time to repair and rejuvenate sun damaged skin. What to Do: Brightening Ingredients: Introduce a daily serum rich in vitamins A, C and E, like L'ORGANIQ Vitamin Boost Facial Serum to help fade hyperpigmentation, even out your skin tone, and restore a healthy glow. Gentle Exfoliation: Exfoliation is key to removing dead skin cells and allowing your daily routine products to penetrate more effectively. Choose a gentle exfoliant, such L'ORGANIQ Clarifying Skin Polish , rich in nourishing avocado and apricot oils that will also unclog pores and feed your skin, without causing irritation. 3. Focus on Barrier Repair As the weather cools, your skin’s barrier can become compromised, leading to increased sensitivity, dryness, and irritation. Strengthening your skin’s protective barrier is crucial in the cooler weather. What to Do: Barrier-Repairing Ingredients: Look for skincare products containing natural fatty acids and rich in vitamin E, such as avocado oil. This super ingredient works to reinforce your skin’s natural barrier, keeping it resilient against the harsher elements of autumn. Our L'ORGANIQ Clarifying Face Wash uses just such ingredient, blended with coconut and sunflower oil Facial Oils: Incorporating a lightweight facial oil, such as a couple of drops of L'ORGANIQ Marula Oil Facial Serum  into cleansed skin morning and night, will quench thirsty skin and provide extra nourishment. Oils help to seal in moisture and add a protective layer against the drying effects of cooler weather and this quick to absorb, non-greasy facial oil is just perfect for this. 4. Don’t Forget Sun Protection Even though the sun might not feel as intense in autumn as it does in summer, UV rays can still cause damage. It’s essential to maintain your sunscreen protection all year-round. What to Do: Continue Using SPF: Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30, and make it a part of your daily routine like ALTRUIST Face Fluid SPF30 . Autumn’s softer sunlight can be deceiving, but UV rays remain a significant factor in skin ageing and damage. Hydrating Sunscreens: As the air gets drier, consider using a moisturising sunscreen that combines hydration with sun protection. This can help prevent your skin from drying out while still shielding it from harmful UV rays. 5. Adjust Your Cleansing Routine With the build up of consistent SPF application, increased sweat and oil production throughout the summer, now is the time to rebalance. However, as autumn approaches and your skin becomes less oily, so it's important to switch to a gentler option. What to Do: Gentle Cleansing: Opt for a hydrating or creamy cleanser like L'ORGANIQ Radiance Cleanser which gently removes impurities without stripping your skin of its natural oils and returns radiant skin. Remember, over-cleansing can exacerbate dryness, so choose products that balance cleanliness with hydration, especially when you double cleanse. Avoid Over-Exfoliating: With cooler temperatures, your skin might not need as much exfoliation as it did during the summer. Scale back to exfoliating once or twice a week to avoid irritating your skin. 6. Prepare for Indoor Heating As the temperatures drop and we spend more time indoors with the heating on, this significantly dries out both the air—and your skin. Preparing for this change can help prevent dehydration. What to Do: Skin sleep repair: After cleansing before bed, don't forget to use your daily moisturiser or serum to lock in moisture as you sleep. Bedtime Masks: Incorporate a nourishing mask an hour before bed, once or twice a week. Our L'ORGANIQ Green Tea Clay Mask is the perfect detoxifying skin mask to draw out the impurities of the day, rebalance and improve the elasticity of your skin and leave you with a healthy glow the following morning. Switching up your skincare routine from summer to autumn is about nourishing, protecting, and repairing your skin as it adapts to cooler, drier conditions. By making these adjustments, you can keep your complexion healthy, hydrated, and glowing throughout the season, especially in the run up to the even cooler climate of winter. Remember, your skin's needs will continue to evolve as the weather changes, so stay attuned to how it responds; your skin will thank you for it.

  • Teen Exam Season Skin

As exam season looms, the pressure on teenagers intensifies. From late-night study sessions to the stress of performance expectations, the mental and emotional toll can be overwhelming. Amidst this chaos, one aspect often overlooked is skincare. While it may seem trivial compared to acing exams, maintaining a good skincare routine can significantly benefit teens, not just in terms of physical appearance but also in managing stress and boosting confidence during this critical period. In this blog we cover our advise for teen exam season skin, using our micro-range designed specifically for teenage skin; BISOUS by L'ORGANIQ. Teen Exam Season Skin It's no secret that stress can wreak havoc on the skin, whatever age we are. During times of high stress, the body releases cortisol, a hormone that triggers increased oil production in the skin. This excess oil, combined with other factors like dirt and bacteria, can lead to clogged pores, breakouts, and exacerbate existing skin conditions such as acne. For teenagers already grappling with hormonal changes, exam pressures, and erratic sleep schedules, the impact on their skin can be particularly pronounced. Neglecting skincare during this time can worsen existing skin issues and contribute to a negative self-image, further exacerbating stress levels. The Benefits of a Teen Skincare Routine Implementing a consistent skincare routine tailored to their specific needs can offer teens a multitude of benefits, especially during exam season: 1. Stress Relief: Engaging in a skincare routine can serve as a form of self-care and relaxation amidst the chaos of exam preparation. Taking even just a few minutes each day to cleanse, moisturise, and pamper the skin can provide a much-needed break and help alleviate stress. 2. Improved Confidence: Clear, healthy skin can boost confidence levels, which is especially crucial during times when self-esteem may be challenged by academic pressures. Feeling good about their appearance can empower teens to face challenges with a positive mindset and greater resilience. 3. Enhanced Focus: Establishing a skincare routine encourages discipline and structure, qualities that are invaluable during exam season. By dedicating time to self-care, teens can cultivate habits that promote overall well-being, including improved focus and concentration. 4. Skin Health: A consistent skincare regimen can help prevent and manage common skin issues such as acne, dryness, and irritation. By keeping the skin clean, hydrated, and protected, teens can minimise the impact of stress-induced breakouts and maintain a healthy complexion. 5. Long-Term Habits: Encouraging teens to prioritise skincare during exam season lays the foundation for lifelong habits of self-care and healthy living. Learning to take care of their skin now sets them up for success in managing their overall health and well-being as they transition into adulthood. Building a Teen-Friendly Skincare Routine Creating a skincare routine doesn't have to be complicated. Here's a simple routine suitable for teens: 1. Hydrating Cleanse: Using a deeply nourishing gentle face wash BISOUS by L'ORGANIQ Clear and Bright Face Wash and cleanser, BISOUS by L'ORGANIQ Clear and Balance Cleanser, will not only ensure an effective double-cleanse, completed morning and night, it will remove dirt, oil, and impurities from the skin, keeping it hydrated without the addition of moisturiser and most importantly balanced. 2. Sun Protection: Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher daily, even on cloudy days, to protect the skin from harmful UV rays. 3. Spot Treatment: Treat acne breakouts with a targeted spot treatment such as our BISOUS by L'ORGANIQ Clear Skin Treatment Gel, a formula with tea tree, aloe vera and sea buckthorn fruit, natural breakout banishing ingredients. 4. Body & Mind: Rich in natural oils, our fabulous BISOUS by L'ORGANIQ Happy Days Body Wash is blended with Aloe Vera to cleanse, grapefruit and orange to refresh and a little soothing lavender, sage and chamomile to calm and ready any teen for the day ahead or just before bedtime. 5. Consistency: Sticking to a consistent routine will give the best results; daily consistency is key in maintaining healthy skin. During the whirlwind of exam season, taking care of teen skin may seem like a minor concern. However, the benefits of a good skincare routine extend far beyond just physical appearance. By prioritising self-care and incorporating simple skincare practices into their daily routine, teens can better manage stress, boost confidence, and cultivate habits that promote long-term well-being. So, as exams approach, remember that clear skin is not just a cosmetic goal but a vital component of overall happy skin health. #bisousbylorganiq #lorganiq #teenskincare #examskin #teenskincaretips

  • ALTRUIST sun protection

Using a great SPF is essential to maintain and protect a healthy skin barrier, which is why we have partnered with ALTRUIST sun protection, an innovative vegan, coral reef-friendly and cruelty-free suncare range, developed by leading British consultant dermatologist and skin cancer surgeon, Dr Andrew Birnie. Their diverse range of high quality sun protection is hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and suitable for even the most sensitive of skins and its non-sticky formulation makes it comfortable to use and leaves no white marks and we cannot recommend them highly enough. Over the past 2 years as a brand we have considered developing our own sunscreen, but when we met ALTRUIST sun protection last year at COSMOProf Bologna, we were blown away not only by the product range, but their remarkable ethos and charity commitment. A not-for-profit brand, ALTRUIST believe everybody should have an equal opportunity to be protected from the sun, so for every unit sold, they donate 10p to remarkable charities supporting children in Africa with Albinism. Created by leading British dermatologist and skin surgeon, Dr Andrew Birnie, and Dutch economist David Westerbeek van Eerten, they have developed the brand in their spare time and using their own expertise.  Costs are kept low thanks to their own personal connections who help produce the products, and as a result, these savings are passed on to the consumer with a very low price point. “Cost should never be a factor when deciding whether or not to wear sunscreen, or how much or how often to apply it.  Everyone should have a basic right to take the necessary precautions to reduce their risks of developing skin cancer. Whilst there are some excellent products available, most are so expensive that people are reluctant to use them as often, or in as large a quantity as they should.” quotes Dr Andrew Birnie. The ALTRUIST sun protection range includes face, body and family suncare and they have also developed an Anti-redness and Pigmentation SPF, which is great for those suffering from rosacea, acne prone skin, sensitive red skin and redness associated with scarring, irregular facial pigmentation and hormonally induced pigmentation (melasma/chloasma). L'ORGANIQ is proud to recommend and stock this remarkable sun protection brand. #lorganiq #sunscreen #sunprotection #altruist

  • SLS-free Body Care

In recent years, there's been a growing buzz around SLS-free products, and for a good reason. Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS), a common ingredient found in many personal care products, has come under scrutiny due to its potential to cause skin irritation and other concerns. As consumers become more conscious of what they put on their bodies, the demand for SLS-free alternatives has surged and we delve into the benefits of choosing SLS-free body care and why your skin will thank you for it. Gentle on the Skin One of the primary reasons people opt for SLS-free products is their gentle nature. SLS is a surfactant, meaning it helps products lather and foam. However, this same property can strip the skin of its natural oils, leading to dryness, irritation, and even exacerbating conditions like eczema or dermatitis. SLS-free formulas, on the other hand, cleanse without causing excessive dryness, making them ideal for those with sensitive or easily irritated skin. Maintains Skin Barrier Function The skin's barrier function is crucial for maintaining hydration and protecting against environmental aggressors. SLS can disrupt this barrier by stripping away natural oils and compromising the skin's integrity. By choosing SLS-free products, you can help preserve the skin's natural barrier, keeping it healthy, hydrated, and better equipped to defend against external irritants. Reduces Risk of Irritation For individuals prone to skin sensitivities or allergic reactions, SLS-free products offer a safer alternative. SLS has been known to cause irritation in some people, manifesting as redness, itching, or inflammation. By eliminating SLS from your skincare routine, you can reduce the risk of experiencing these adverse reactions, leading to a more comfortable and enjoyable skincare experience. Environmentally Friendly Aside from the potential benefits to your skin, choosing SLS-free products can also have positive implications for the environment. SLS is a chemical compound that can persist in the environment after being rinsed off, contributing to water pollution. By opting for SLS-free formulations, you're making a more eco-conscious choice that aligns with sustainable skincare practices. Embrace the SLS-Free Lifestyle As the skincare industry continues to evolve, more brands are recognising the demand for SLS-free alternatives and expanding their product offerings accordingly. Whether you're looking to soothe sensitive skin, maintain a healthy skin barrier, or simply reduce your environmental footprint, incorporating SLS-free products into your routine can be a step in the right direction. So why not join the SLS-free revolution and experience the benefits for yourself? Our L'ORGANIQ body washes are all SLS-free, including our BISOUS Happy Days Body Wash, so you'll be helping the planet and your skin. #lorganiq #naturalskincare #slsfree #bodywash

  • The Benefits of using a Natural Body Scrub

In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, our skin often bears the brunt of stress, pollution, and harsh weather conditions and let's face it, we often don't find the time to pamper our body, but regular exfoliation is key to maintaining healthy, radiant skin from head to toe. While there are countless body scrubs available on the market, opting for a natural body scrub formulation can offer a host of benefits for your skin and overall well-being. We explore our top 6 reasons why incorporating a natural body scrub into your skincare routine is a luxurious treat your skin will thank you for. Gentle Exfoliation: Natural body scrubs utilise gentle exfoliants derived from ingredients like sugar, salt, coffee grounds, or ground nuts to slough away dead skin cells and reveal fresh, smooth skin underneath. Unlike harsh chemical exfoliants, natural scrubs are less likely to cause irritation or inflammation, making them suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. Improved Circulation: The act of massaging a body scrub into your skin stimulates blood flow and lymphatic circulation, promoting detoxification and reducing the appearance of cellulite and uneven skin texture. This increased circulation delivers oxygen and nutrients to the skin's surface, resulting in a healthy, radiant complexion. Deep Cleansing: Natural body scrubs not only remove dead skin cells but also help unclog pores and remove impurities, dirt, and excess oil from the skin's surface. This deep cleansing action can prevent breakouts, ingrown hairs, and blemishes, leaving your skin feeling clean, refreshed, and revitalised. Enhanced Absorption: Exfoliating with a natural body scrub creates a smooth canvas for better absorption of skincare products, such as moisturisers, serums, and lotions. By removing the barrier of dead skin cells, these products can penetrate more deeply into the skin, maximising their effectiveness and providing long-lasting hydration and nourishment. Stress Relief: Indulging in a pampering skincare ritual with a natural body scrub can be a therapeutic experience for both the body and mind. The gentle exfoliation and soothing scents of natural ingredients like essential oils can help relax tense muscles, alleviate stress, and promote a sense of well-being and tranquility. Eco-Friendly: Many commercial body scrubs contain microbeads or synthetic ingredients that can harm marine life and contribute to environmental pollution. By choosing a natural body scrub made with biodegradable ingredients, like our L'ORGANIQ Detoxifying Body Scrub, made with natural exfoliants including cranberry seeds and walnut shell powder, you can minimise your environmental footprint and enjoy guilt-free skincare that's kind to both your skin and the planet. Incorporating a natural body scrub into your skincare routine is a simple yet luxurious way to pamper your skin and indulge in self-care. From gentle exfoliation and improved circulation to deep cleansing and stress relief, the benefits of using a natural body scrub extend far beyond surface-level beauty. Treat yourself to the rejuvenating power of natural ingredients and experience the radiant glow of healthy, luminous skin from head to toe. #lorganiq #naturalbodyscrub #bodyscrub #selfcare #bodycare

  • Spring clean your routine

Now well into Spring, the season of refresh and rebalance, the days grow longer and the sun shines brighter. It's time to bid farewell to the heavy creams of Winter and spring clean your routine for a lighter, fresher alternative in readiness for the summer months ahead. With Summer around the corner, the better weather brings its own set of challenges for our skin, from increased sun exposure to higher humidity levels. But fear not! With a few simple tweaks and adjustments, you can ensure your skin stays healthy, hydrated, and glowing all summer long, so let's get ready! Assess Your Current Skincare Routine: Take a moment to evaluate your current skincare routine. What products have been working well for you? Are there any issues you'd like to address, such as dryness, oiliness, or breakouts? Understanding your skin's needs will help you make informed decisions when updating your routine. Cleanse Wisely: With warmer temperatures and higher humidity, your skin may produce more oil, leading to clogged pores and ultimately dull skin or breakouts. Switch to a gentle cleanser that effectively removes daily dirt, oil, and sweat without stripping away essential moisture and damaging your skin's barrier. Lighten Up Your Moisturiser: Bid adieu to heavy creams and opt for lightweight moisturisers that provide hydration without leaving your skin feeling blocked and greasy, like our L'ORGANIQ Radiance Moisturiser. Hyaluronic acid is a hero ingredient for summer skincare, as it attracts moisture to the skin, keeping it plump and hydrated without clogging pores. Our L'ORGANIQ Hyaluronic Acid Triple Fruit Serum is perfect and will do just this, either on its own or beneath your regular daily moisturiser for an assured boost of hydration. Don't Forget Sun Protection: Sunscreen is a non-negotiable step in any skincare routine, especially during the summer months. Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a minimum SPF 30 or higher and apply it generously every morning, even on the cloudy days. Don't forget, if you're spending time outdoors, reapply every two hours, especially if you're participating in water activities. Incorporate Antioxidants: Antioxidants are your skin's best defence against environmental stressors like pollution and UV radiation. Skincare products enriched with vitamins C and E, green tea extract to help combat free radical damage and promote a healthy, radiant complexion. These ingredients also help fade dark spots and even out skin tone, giving you that coveted fresh summer glow. Try our L'ORGANIQ Green Tea Clay Mask for a weekly skin treat, or our L'ORGANIQ Vitamin Boost Facial Serum for a mighty boost of vitamins A, C and E. Exfoliate Regularly: Exfoliation is key to maintaining smooth, radiant skin year-round, but it's especially important during the summer when sweat, sunscreen, and pollutants can clog pores and dull your complexion. Incorporate a gentle exfoliant such as our multi award-winning L'ORGANIQ Clarifying Skin Polish, into your routine 2-3 times a week to slough away dead skin cells, unclog pores, and reveal fresh, glowing skin underneath. and finally, don't forget to Hydrate From Within: Remember, skincare isn't just about what you apply topically—it's also about nourishing your body from the inside out. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day, especially in hot weather or if you're spending time outdoors. Eating a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats can also support your skin's health and radiance. With a few simple tweaks and additions, you can tailor your skincare routine to suit the changing needs of your skin during the summer months. Embrace lighter textures, amp up sun protection, and don't forget to stay hydrated inside and out. By giving your skin the care it deserves, you'll be ready to face the summer with confidence and wonderfully healthy skin. #lorganiq #naturalskincare #summerskinready #awardwinningskincare #crueltyfreeskincare #summerskin

  • The Beauty of Natural Ingredients in Skincare

In a world where skincare aisles are packed with products boasting revolutionary formulas and groundbreaking technologies, it's easy to overlook the simplicity, efficacy and the beauty of natural ingredients in skincare. From ancient civilisations to modern beauty gurus, the power of nature has always been revered for its ability to nurture and rejuvenate the skin. This blog delves into the wondrous world of natural ingredients and uncovers a myriad of benefits in skincare. Gentleness on the Skin: One of the most significant advantages of natural ingredients is their gentle nature. Unlike harsh chemicals and synthetic additives, natural compounds tend to be more compatible with the skin's delicate balance. They are less likely to cause irritation, making them suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone skin. Nourishment from Within: Natural ingredients are rich sources of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that work synergistically to nourish the skin from within. Ingredients like avocado oil and aloe vera are packed with nutrients that help hydrate, repair, and rejuvenate the skin, leaving it looking healthy and radiant. Environmental Sustainability: Choosing natural skincare not only benefits your skin but also the environment. Many natural ingredients are sourced sustainably, reducing the carbon footprint associated with skincare production. Additionally, organic farming practices minimise the use of harmful pesticides and chemicals, promoting biodiversity and soil health. Minimal Risk of Side Effects: Synthetic ingredients found in many commercial skincare products often come with the risk of adverse reactions such as redness, itching, and inflammation. Natural ingredients, on the other hand, have a lower likelihood of causing such side effects, making them a safer choice for long-term use. Versatility and Accessibility: Natural skincare ingredients are often readily available and versatile, allowing you to customise your skincare routine according to your specific needs. Whether you're dealing with dryness, dullness, or acne, there's a natural ingredient out there to address your concerns, from soothing clay masks to exfoliating facial scrubs. Anti-Aging Properties: Many natural ingredients boast potent anti-aging properties that can help diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots. Ingredients such as green tea extract, and vitamin C are renowned for their ability to boost collagen production, improve skin elasticity, and fade hyperpigmentation, resulting in a more youthful complexion. Harmony with Nature: Using natural skincare products allows you to align your beauty routine with the rhythm of nature. By harnessing the power of plants, herbs, and botanical extracts, you not only enhance your skin's health but also cultivate a deeper appreciation for the natural world and its bountiful offerings. The benefits of using natural ingredients in skincare are manifold, ranging from gentle efficacy to environmental sustainability. By incorporating natural skincare products into your routine, you can nourish your skin with the goodness of nature while minimising your exposure to harmful chemicals. So why not take a step closer to healthier, happier skin by embracing the beauty of natural ingredients today? #lorganiq #naturalingredients #sustainableskincare #healthyskin

  • Take ageing in your stride

Ageing is an inevitable part of life's journey. While we can't stop the clock, we can certainly navigate the process with grace and positivity. Embracing ageing isn't about desperately clinging to youth but rather about embracing the changes that come with each passing year. One of the most effective ways to do so is by adopting a holistic approach that encompasses both skincare and lifestyle choices and in this weeks blog edit, we'll explore how integrating skincare practices and lifestyle adjustments can help you to take ageing in your stride. Understanding Ageing: Ageing is a multifaceted process influenced by both intrinsic (genetic) and extrinsic (environmental) factors. As we age, our skin naturally undergoes various changes such as reduced collagen production, decreased elasticity, and increased susceptibility to damage. Additionally, lifestyle factors such as diet, stress, sleep quality, and sun exposure can significantly impact the ageing process. Skincare: Hydration is Key: As we age, our skin tends to become drier, leading to increased fine lines and wrinkles. Hydrating skincare products containing ingredients like hyaluronic acid in our L'ORGANIQ Hyaluronic Acid Triple Fruit Serum can help retain moisture and plump up the skin, reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Sun Protection: Sun damage is one of the primary contributors to premature ageing. Incorporating a broad-spectrum sunscreen into your daily skincare routine is essential for protecting your skin from harmful UV rays. Consistent Skincare Routine: Establishing a consistent skincare routine tailored to your skin type and concerns can help maintain its health and vitality. This may include cleansing, exfoliating, moisturising, and using targeted facial treatments like serums twice a day. Nutrient-Rich Formulations: Look for skincare products enriched with antioxidants like vitamins C and E, which help neutralise free radicals and protect the skin from oxidative stress, such as our vitamin-packed L'ORGANIQ Vitamin Boost Facial Serum.Lifestyle. Adjustments: Healthy Diet: A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats provides essential nutrients that support skin health. Foods high in antioxidants, such as berries, leafy greens, and nuts, can help combat inflammation and oxidative damage. Regular Exercise: Physical activity not only improves circulation and promotes detoxification but also helps maintain muscle tone and vitality. Incorporating a mix of cardiovascular exercise, strength training, and flexibility exercises can keep your body and skin in top condition. Stress Management: Chronic stress accelerates the ageing process by increasing the production of cortisol, a hormone linked to inflammation and collagen breakdown. Practices like mindfulness meditation, yoga, and deep breathing exercises can help alleviate stress and promote relaxation. Adequate Sleep: Quality sleep is essential for skin regeneration and repair. Aim for 7-9 hours of uninterrupted sleep each night to allow your body to undergo essential restorative processes. Embracing Ageing with Confidence: Taking a proactive approach to skincare and lifestyle not only helps slow down the visible signs of ageing but also fosters a sense of empowerment and self-confidence. Instead of viewing ageing as something to be feared or resisted, embrace it as a natural part of life's journey. Celebrate the wisdom and experiences that come with age, and remember that true beauty radiates from within. Ageing gracefully involves a combination of skincare practices and lifestyle choices that nurture both the body and the mind. By prioritising self-care, embracing healthy habits, and maintaining a positive outlook, we can navigate the ageing process with confidence and grace. So, let's embrace each new day as an opportunity to flourish, regardless of our age. #lorganiq #takeageinginyourstride #naturalskincare

  • Using a toner in your skincare routine

In the world of skincare, where serums, moisturisers, and cleansers often steal the limelight, there's one unsung hero that deserves more attention: toner. Often overlooked or dismissed as an unnecessary step, toner actually plays a vital role in completing the cleansing process, helping you to maintain healthy clean skin and regulate your skin's pH. We put the spotlight on using a toner in your skincare routine and why it's a step you shouldn't skip. Balancing pH Levels: One of the primary functions of toner is to balance the pH levels of your skin. pH balance is crucial for maintaining healthy skin as it helps to regulate oil production and keeps the skin's natural barrier intact. Cleansers, particularly those that are alkaline-based, can disrupt the skin's pH, leaving it vulnerable to dryness, irritation, and breakouts. Toner helps to restore the skin's pH balance, ensuring it stays within the optimal range for a healthy complexion. Tightening Pores: Enlarged pores can be a source of frustration for many, as they are more prone to trapping dirt, oil, and impurities, leading to blackheads and breakouts. Using a toner can help to tighten and minimise the appearance of pores, constricting the pores, toner creates a smoother surface, giving the skin a more refined and even texture. Removing Residual Impurities: Even after cleansing, traces of dirt, makeup, and impurities can linger on the skin's surface. Toners act as a second step in the cleansing process, effectively removing any remaining residue that your cleanser may have missed. This ensures that your pores are thoroughly clean and prepped for the subsequent skincare products you apply. Hydration and Moisture: Contrary to popular belief, not all toners are drying. There are also hydrating toners packed with humectants like hyaluronic acid and glycerin, including our award-winning L'ORGANIQ Rose Aloe Toner and L'ORGANIQ Orange and Chamomile Aloe Toner, which help to attract and retain moisture in the skin. These toners provide an extra layer of hydration, leaving your skin feeling refreshed, plump, and supple. Enhancing Product Absorption: One of the lesser-known benefits of toner is its ability to enhance the absorption of subsequent skincare products. By prepping the skin and removing any barriers (such as dead skin cells or excess oil), toner allows serums, moisturisers, and treatments to penetrate deeper into the skin, maximising their efficacy. This means you get more out of the products you're already using, ultimately leading to better results. Soothing and Calming: For those with sensitive or irritated skin, using a toner formulated with soothing ingredients like chamomile or aloe vera can provide instant relief, like our L'ORGANIQ Orange and Chamomile Aloe Toner. These calming toners help to reduce redness, inflammation, and discomfort, making them ideal for use after cleansing or exfoliating. Using a toner, aside from its skincare benefits, applying toner can also be a sensory experience that leaves you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. The act of gently patting toner onto your skin can invigorate your senses, giving you a moment of self-care and relaxation amidst your busy day. Incorporating a toner into your skincare routine can yield a multitude of benefits, ranging from balancing pH levels and tightening pores to hydrating the skin and enhancing product absorption. Whether you have oily, dry, sensitive, or combination skin, there's a toner out there tailored to your specific needs. So next time you're tempted to skip this step, remember the valuable role that toner plays in achieving and maintaining a healthy, radiant complexion. Your skin will thank you for it! #lorganiq #toners #naturalskincare #selfcare #vegantoners

  • Embrace your freckles

Freckles: those delightful sprinkles of pigment that dance across our faces, often regarded as the signature of summertime or a whimsical touch from Mother Nature herself. Yet, for many years, these endearing spots have been misunderstood or even seen as flaws to be concealed. Today, however, there's a growing appreciation for freckles, as people embrace their natural beauty and unique charm. The Story Behind Freckles Freckles, scientifically known as ephelides, are clusters of melanin that appear on the skin, typically after exposure to sunlight. They're more common in individuals with fair or light skin, and their appearance can vary widely – from barely-there speckles to a charming sprinkling across the nose and cheeks. For some, freckles are a genetic inheritance, passed down through generations. Others develop them over time due to sun exposure, as the sun stimulates melanocytes to produce more melanin, resulting in freckles as a form of protection against UV rays. Embracing Freckles: A Shift in Perspective In recent years, there has been a significant shift in how freckles are perceived. Once considered imperfections, they are now celebrated as unique features that add character and individuality to one's appearance. This change in perspective can be attributed to various factors, including the rise of diversity and body positivity movements, as well as a growing appreciation for natural beauty. Social media platforms have played a significant role in this shift, with influencers and celebrities proudly flaunting their freckles and inspiring others to embrace their own. The hashtag #Freckles has millions of posts across platforms like Instagram, showcasing the beauty and diversity of freckled faces around the world and even make-up tutorials on how to add them using a broccoli spear! Caring for Freckled Skin While freckles themselves are harmless, it's essential to take care of freckled skin, especially considering its sensitivity to sun exposure. Here are some tips for caring for freckled skin: Sun Protection: With or without freckles, always wear sunscreen with a high SPF to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. Look for broad-spectrum sunscreens that shield against both UVA and UVB rays. Hydration: Keep your skin well-hydrated by using moisturisers suitable for your skin type. Hydrated skin tends to look healthier and more radiant, allowing your freckles to shine. Gentle Cleansing: Use gentle cleansers that won't strip your skin of its natural oils. Avoid harsh exfoliants or abrasive scrubs that can irritate freckled skin. Makeup Choices: If you choose to wear makeup, opt for lightweight, breathable formulas that allow your freckles to show through. Avoid heavy foundations or concealers that can mask your natural beauty. Every freckle tells a story – a tale of sun-kissed adventures, genetic heritage, or simply the passage of time. As we continue to celebrate diversity in all its forms, let's remember to embrace our freckles as part of what makes us unique. Whether you have a few freckles or a face full of them, each one is a tiny masterpiece painted by nature, adding a touch of whimsy and charm to the canvas of our skin. So, let's celebrate freckles in all their glory – because beauty truly comes in all shapes, sizes, and shades.

  • The benefits of dry body brushing

This ancient technique involves dry brushing to gently exfoliate the skin. It's not favoured by everyone, predominantly those who have a sensitivity to the sensation or tickling brush on their skin, but the benefits of dry brushing far outweigh the feeling. In this week's blog, we delve into the world of dry body brushing and uncover its transformative effects on skin health and overall well-being. Exfoliation and Detoxification: Dry body brushing acts as a natural exfoliant, sloughing away dead skin cells and unclogging pores to reveal smoother, softer skin beneath. By stimulating the lymphatic system, this practice also aids in detoxification, promoting the elimination of toxins and impurities from the body. Regular dry brushing can help improve circulation, reduce the appearance of cellulite, and promote a more even skin tone, leaving you with a radiant and rejuvenated complexion. • Pores for thought

Skin pores, those tiny openings on the surface of our skin can often indicate skin health and appearance. While pores are a natural part of our skin's structure, issues like clogged pores, enlarged pores, and blackheads can detract from a glowing complexion. In this weeks blog, 'Pores for thought', we delve into the world of skin pores, exploring their function, common concerns, and effective cleansing routines to keep them clear giving you radiant and healthy skin. What Are Pores and Their Function? Skin pores are small openings in the skin's surface that house hair follicles and sebaceous glands. Sebum, an oily substance produced by these glands, helps moisturise and protect the skin. Pores also serve as channels for sweat and other substances to be released onto the skin's surface, regulating body temperature. Common Pore Concerns: Clogged Pores: When excess oil, dead skin cells, and impurities accumulate, pores can become clogged, leading to acne breakouts and dull skin. Enlarged Pores: Factors like genetics, ageing, sun damage, and excess oil production can contribute to enlarged pores, giving the skin a rough or uneven texture. Blackheads: Open comedones (small flesh or white lumps on the skin surface), or blackheads can occur when our pores become clogged with oil and dead skin cells, oxidising and turning black upon exposure to air. We've listed below 6 steps that will help you to clear and improve your pores: Consistent Cleansing Routine: It goes without saying, double-cleansing your face twice daily with a gentle, non-comedogenic cleanser to remove dirt, oil, and makeup is one of the best solutions to clear skin. Consider using a gentle exfoliating cleanser to unclog pores and remove dead skin cells, like our L'ORGANIQ Clear Skin Cleanser. Regular Exfoliation: A gentle facial scrub 1-2 times per week will slough off dead skin cells and prevent pore congestion and our L'ORGANIQ Clarifying Skin Polish will delicately do this while deeply nourishing your skin with its natural avocado and apricot oils. If you're not keen on the texture of a scrub, then our L'ORGANIQ Green Tea Clay Mask is a soothing alternative and will draw out impurities and excess oils. Hydration and Moisturisation: Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water to maintain skin elasticity and prevent excess oil production. Use a lightweight moisturiser or serum to hydrate the skin without clogging pores, such as L'ORGANIQ Vitamin Boost Facial Serum, with its natural blend of vitamin A, a natural retinol to effectively manage acne and discoloration, vitamin C to shield and protect, reducing inflammation and irritation and antioxidant-rich vitamin E to heal skin. Balanced Diet: Incorporate a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins to support skin health. Limit intake of sugary and greasy foods, which can exacerbate pore congestion and acne. Sun Protection: Shield your skin from harmful UV rays by wearing a good SPF daily, even on cloudy days and indoors and opt for an oil-free formulation to prevent pore blockage. Avoid Touching Your Face: This one is tricky, as 90% of the time we are completely unaware we are doing it. Frequently touching our face can transfer bacteria and oil onto the skin, potentially clogging pores and subsequently causing blackheads and breakouts. Clear and healthy pores are essential for maintaining a luminous complexion and overall skin health. By understanding the function of pores and adopting a consistent skincare routine that includes cleansing, exfoliation, hydration, and sun protection, you can effectively keep your pores clear and minimise common concerns like clogged pores and blackheads. Remember, patience and diligence are key when it comes to achieving and maintaining clear skin, so stay committed to your skincare regimen for optimal results. #lorganiq #poresforthought #naturalskincare #launchingsoonaustralia #selfcare #skincareroutine

  • The Teen Skindemic

Embarking on your skincare journey as a teen is an exciting time. However, the desire for clear skin and the influence of social media trends can lead to experimentation with products unsuitable for young skin. We are seeing more and more posts and articles highlighting what is fast becoming a teen skindemic. Parents are rightfully concerned their tweens and teens are being encouraged to buy and use skincare that is not only expensive, but wholly unsuitable for young skin, with damaging consequences. In this blog, we explore the potential pitfalls of teens being swayed by social media influencers to use unsuitable and expensive skincare and how you can help educate and benefit your teen by opting for natural, suitable alternatives. Understanding the Teen Skindemic: Teenagers often grapple with the challenges of hormonal changes, resulting in oily skin, acne breakouts and other complexion issues; we’ve all been there. In their quest for a solution and driven by social media channels flooded with influencers pushing candy-coloured packaged products, many teens are turning to costly skincare without considering their skin type, unintentionally exposing themselves to potential risks, not to mention breaking the bank of mum and dad. The most crucial issue is compromising the skin barrier. The skin's natural barrier protects against environmental threats and maintains hydration, so harsh products will compromise this barrier, leaving the skin vulnerable to infections, sensitivity, and premature ageing. There are numerous hazards and consequences to using harsh and unsuitable skincare for any skin type, let alone young, healthy skin and in today’s saturated beauty market, with the ever-growing sales streams such as Instagram and TikTok, teens are bamboozled with an array of trending products they are drawn to for the wrong reasons. Many of these products contain salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide, popular choices for acne-prone skin that can be overly drying, stripping the skin of moisture. Teenagers with already sensitive or dry skin then experience irritation, redness and even peeling as a result, exasperating their already troubled skin and knocking their self-confidence. Different types of acne require tailored treatments, so using harsh exfoliants meant for one type of acne may worsen another. For instance, aggressive exfoliation on inflammatory acne can intensify redness and swelling, making the problem far worse and then there are allergic reactions. Teens may unknowingly have allergies to certain skincare ingredients, such as fragrance and preservatives, both are common culprits that can trigger itching, redness and swelling. Patch-testing products is crucial to identify potential allergies, especially when using a product for the first time and when a teen has spent more than £50 on a single product, it can be an expensive and wasteful purchase if they have a reaction. Then we have the risk of uneven pigmentation, caused by the misuse of certain products, particularly those with potent exfoliants, that can lead to uneven pigmentation; damaged skin may result in dark spots and hyperpigmentation. Pigmentation is common in adult, mature skin, but that’s after years of sun and environmental damage and shouldn’t be an issue for healthy young skin. The solution: Unfortunately, we cannot police everything teens see on social media and let’s face it, these product trends will continue, but if we educate teens and help them to understand the pros and cons of skincare, they’ll learn to make informed decisions themselves. This is why we created BISOUS by L’ORGANIQ, a clean and natural micro collection of daily teen skincare essentials. In our first year of launching L’ORGANIQ we received so many enquiries from parents asking advice and recommendations for suitable teen skincare; and so BISOUS was born. Teen skincare doesn’t need to be complicated. Teens don’t require a myriad of products to maintain their hormonal skin. What is important is education, an appreciation of the basics for good skin health and a daily routine that will serve them for a lifetime. Understanding their skin type is the first step, be it oily, dry, combination or sensitive, until you’ve established their skin type, a tailored routine will be crucial for optimal results. If you’re unsure of your teens skin type or how best to treat skin concerns, consult a dermatologist or skin clinic, as they can provide professional insights and guide teens towards appropriate products and treatments. In addition to understanding their skin type, consider exploring the benefits of natural skincare alternatives. Natural ingredients, such as aloe vera, chamomile, and tea tree oil, offer gentler solutions without harsh chemicals and irritants. These natural ingredients often possess anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, aiding in the soothing and healing of the skin in a safe and natural way. Navigating the world of teenage skincare requires thoughtful consideration. By avoiding the pitfalls of unsuitable products and embracing the benefits of natural skincare alternatives, teenagers can foster a healthy relationship with their skin. This not only addresses immediate concerns but sets the foundation for a lifetime of healthy, well-nourished skin. #teenskincare #teenskinissues #teenskindemic #bisousbylorganiq #lorganiq
